Herricks students at Denton Avenue School have created warm heartfelt valentines for veterans. In an effort organized by teacher Daria Roulett and members of the Student Council, an assortment of handmade valentine cards and artwork was created and collected for a Feb. 14 delivery.
Denton students also worked with Assemblyman Tony D’Urso to gather donations of toiletries and small gifts of gloves, hats and DVDs for veterans. The entire school pitched in for this meaningful cause. “With all that these veterans have done for us, it’s time to show our thanks and love for our service members, who have fought to keep us safe,” said Assemblyman D’Urso.
